Strawberry Maternity Session - A Unique Celebration of Motherhood and Strawberries.

We wanted something different.
When most people think of maternity photos, they picture flowing gowns, golden sunsets, and standing in a field of tall grass. While those sessions are beautiful in their own right, sometimes creativity calls for something a little different.
When I started to plan this shoot with Crysta (fellow photographer and often the other half of my creative brain), we started to dream of something unique, playful, and full of personality. We both wanted to lean into something less traditional than the standard maternity photoshoot, while still celebrating the beauty of motherhood.
That's how the Strawberry Session was born.
After brainstorming some ideas, we really wanted to play with some fun summer themes and props (especially given how hot Utah summers can be)- and working alongside our wonderful mama to be, we made a little trek to Tibble Fork Reservoir and had an evening picnic (with as many strawberries as you can imagine). This really was centered around the carefree summertime aesthetic that felt both nostalgic and modern at the same time.
Not everyone fits in the same box, so why should your maternity photos?
There is something to be said about collaborating with other photographers to push your creative boundaries and create something you might have not done on your own. This allows us to experiment with concepts that inspire us while also creating some gorgeous imagery that feels memorable. This session really became a good reminder to me that maternity sessions don't need to fit in a box, it can be completely unique to the person being photographed!
What started as two photographers bouncing ideas off of another became a celebration of motherhood and creativity- and how beautiful are both of those things?
